Tashkent City – Light and Water
The Tashkent City is the newest and largest modern development in Uzbekistans capital. Especially the light and water shows are incredible.
Over the past decade, a new modern district has risen near Pakhtakor Stadium in the heart of Uzbekistan’s capital, Tashkent. Known as Tashkent City, this ambitious urban development has transformed a large area into a vibrant business, residential, and leisure hub that reflects the city’s rapid modernization. The complex features impressive glass cladded skyscrapers, luxury hotels, modern apartment buildings, resampling an european style of the beginning of the 20th century, shopping centers, and the green Tashkent City Park, which opened in 2019.
At the center of the park lies a 15-hectare artificial lake with a spectacular 200-meter-long musical fountain which is strongly remembers us of the Dubai Fontain in front of Burj Khalifa. During the evening shows, the water jets reach heights of up to 80 meters while synchronized lights and music from famous local and international artists create for us a memorable spectacle. The lake is crossed by elegant pedestrian bridges and surrounded by quite affordable cafés and restaurants, making it one of the city’s most popular gathering places at the moment.
The park itself is the largest recreational green space in Uzbekistan and is home to more than 4,500 trees and a wide variety of ornamental plants imported from Europe. Visitors can also enjoy an amphitheater with short musicals for kids, sports facilities, children’s playgrounds, and a modern but tiny planetarium. Every night, the illuminated skyline and the dancing fountain transform Tashkent City into a dazzling spectacle of light, water, and color, symbolizing Uzbekistan’s journey into the future.
